Administration
My name is Erin Devor, and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Lincoln Middle School.
I began my career as a K–8 special education teacher in Rutherford, where I taught 4th grade Science and Social Studies in an inclusion classroom, as well as K–8 mathematics in a resource room setting. After three years, I transitioned to teaching 8th grade Math and Algebra at the same school. In total, I spent twelve years in Rutherford before joining Lincoln Middle School in 2014–2015 as Vice Principal. This year marks my eleventh year as Principal for a total of twelve years at LMS.
My experience working with students of all abilities from those who require additional support to those who are ready for advanced challenges has shaped my belief in innovative, rigorous, and engaging instruction. My focus is always on student-centered teaching that is meaningful and drives achievement for every learner.
I truly love working in a middle school. These years are a pivotal time in a young person’s life and are years when educators can have a lasting impact. Our goal is to help students grow into confident, capable, and compassionate members of society. Achieving that goal requires the full partnership of faculty, administrators, parents, and students working together as one community.
I look forward to collaborating with our students, families, and the broader community to ensure every child has a rewarding and successful middle school experience.
Sincerely,
Erin Devor
Principal, Lincoln Middle School
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! My name is Richard Burd, and I am excited to begin my fourth year as Assistant Principal at Lincoln Middle School. I am honored to work at a school that focuses on the whole child and supports students both inside and outside the classroom. Mrs. Devor and I look forward to continuing to provide a safe, inclusive environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported in their learning.
Through my experiences as both a teacher and an administrator, I have seen how pivotal the middle school years are in shaping students’ growth and future success. Before joining Hawthorne, I spent ten years teaching middle school in Dumont, where I learned firsthand the importance of building strong relationships with students, families, and the community. These connections, combined with high expectations and consistent support, are what allow students to truly thrive. I am committed to using my experience to provide our students with strong academic, social, emotional, and behavioral support.
I am grateful to be part of the LMS family and proud of the dedication I see in our students, staff, and families each day. Together, I know we can make this school year a memorable and successful one for everyone in our community. Thank you for the opportunity, and I look forward to working side by side to help our students reach their fullest potential.
Sincerely,
Richard J. Burd
Assistant Principal, Lincoln Middle School
