My name is Erin Devor and I am excited to be serving as the Principal of Lincoln Middle School.

I started my career as a K-8 special education teacher in Rutherford. I taught 4th grade Science and Social Studies in an inclusion classroom and K-8 mathematics in a resource room setting. After three years, I transitioned on to teach 8th grade math and 8th grade Algebra at the same school. In total, I spent twelve years working in Rutherford. In 2014-2015, I served as Vice Principal of Lincoln Middle School and this is my tenth year serving as Principal.

My work with special education students, struggling learners, and with advanced scholars has helped me pursue powerful avenues into instruction that are innovative, challenging, and exciting. I am confident that my experience in special education allows me to provide incite to the inclusion model that we are transitioning into fully and inspire student centered instruction that is meaningful and positively impacts student achievement.

I love working in a middle school. This is a very critical time in students lives that we as educators can have an large impact. The ultimate goal is to mold students to become productive members of society. In order to be successful we need the whole school community to be involved. Faculty, administrators, parents, and students must collaborate as a team to ensure a successful middle school experience.

I look forward to working with the students, parents and the outside community to make a difference.

Sincerely,

Erin Devor

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! My name is Richard Burd and I am extremely excited to be part of the Lincoln Middle School team. I am honored to be at a school that looks beyond the classroom and encourages a holistic approach to education. I look forward to working with Mrs. Devor to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all the LMS students, staff, and families.

This will be my third year as the Assistant Principal at Lincoln Middle School. Prior to coming to Hawthorne, I spent ten years working as a middle school teacher in Dumont. Throughout my time as an administrator and a teacher I have learned how uniquely important the middle school years are to the successful development of students. I will use my knowledge, experience, and skills to provide the LMS students with the highest quality academic, social, emotional, and behavioral support.

I am humbled to be part of the LMS family and eager to make this school year a memorable success for all LMS students, families, and community members. Thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to working together.

Sincerely,

Richard J. Burd
